The first impression that many will arrive to is that I have a dislike for eBay. Well, I can honesty tell you that is not true at all. As a matter of fact, eBay will always be a part of my business plan. I don’t care what other businesses I’m involved with.



But the reality is Amazon has substituted eBay as my primary way to sell products to customers. I would say that Amazon is 80% of my ecommerce business while eBay is now 20%.



I’ve been an eBay seller for over twenty years and have become emotionally attached to the eBay marketplace. I remember when I first heard about a website called eBay. One of my dearest friends kept mentioning how he was making some extra income by going to flea markets on the weekend and selling whatever he purchased on eBay.



He talked about eBay so much that I became curious about eBay. I dedicate a whole weekend learning all the rules and protocols. I researched the best way possible to sell different items. By the end of that weekend I had twenty items listed. All were unused clothing and products that were collecting dust found in my own home. If you happen to be a beginner let that a less for you. You don’t have to buy inventory when you’re starting out. Look for items within your home.



After a few beginner mistakes I was on my way to becoming a successful eBay seller. About a year later I walked out of my dead-end office job to become a full-time seller. Then a few years later I found out about Amazon.



There’s an old saying in business; don’t keep all your eggs in one basket. It’s always best to diversify. As much as I loved selling on eBay, at times it can be very frustration to do so. I won’t go through the many reasons eBay has caused many loyal eBay sellers to leave them for Amazon. But just know this; Amazon is the #1 ecommerce marketplace for many reasons. You will learn some of the reasons why Amazon is #1 later on in the book. I wanted to share some of the obvious reasons why you should think about selling on Amazon. That’s the main reason why I wrote this book.



I’m not suggesting that you turn your back on eBay. Hell, I still sell on eBay. So, please don’t think of this book as someone bashing or trashing eBay. It’s more about me sharing some differences between the two marketplaces to help inspire, motivate anyone who desires to expand their business onto the Amazon platform.



By the end of this book everyone that reads this should know what the #1 reason benefit is when you sell on Amazon via the FBA program.
